Updated: Jul 31

The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Teamwork in Action" (Project No: 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000300857), coordinated by KUFF Asociación de Solidaridad con Refugiados y Minorías, has officially started in Madrid, Spain. The project brings together partner organizations Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Spain, Türkiye. Together, they aim to help young people recognize cultural diversity as an advantage in the workplace, challenge stereotypes, and strengthen their intercultural communication and teamwork skills.
The first project day began with ice-breaking and team-building activities designed to help participants get to know one another and build trust within the international group. Through the "Rhythm Circle" activity, participants experienced the importance of coordination, cooperation, and teamwork while creating a positive learning environment.
The day continued with the "Interaction in Business Life Workshop," where participants explored common communication challenges that may arise in multicultural workplaces. Through role-playing exercises and group discussions, they practiced effective communication strategies for job interviews, teamwork, and professional environments while learning how cultural differences influence workplace interactions.
During the "Map Your Skills" activity, participants reflected on their personal strengths and identified the competencies that contribute to their success in both professional and everyday life. This was followed by the "Intercultural Workplace Design" workshop, where international teams designed inclusive workplace models by combining different cultural perspectives, management styles, communication methods, and decision-making approaches.
Later in the day, participants expressed the value of cultural diversity through the "Cultural Harmony in Flags" activity by creating national flags featuring messages promoting inclusion and intercultural cooperation. They also worked collaboratively on dissemination materials to ensure that the project's objectives and outcomes would reach a wider audience.
The day concluded with an engaging Cultural Night, where each country introduced its traditions, music, dances, cuisine, and cultural heritage. This interactive evening strengthened friendships, encouraged mutual respect, and celebrated the richness of cultural diversity.
Throughout the first day, participants not only improved their intercultural understanding but also developed essential skills such as communication, collaboration, empathy, and problem-solving. Teamwork in Action continues to demonstrate that cultural diversity is one of the greatest strengths for building more inclusive, innovative, and successful workplaces.
