Breaking Barriers Through Communication: Participants Explore the Power of Cultural Diversity

The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Teamwork in Action" (Project No: 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000300857), coordinated by KUFF Asociación de Solidaridad con Refugiados y Minorías, continues in Madrid, Spain with the participation of KUFF Refugees and Minorities Solidarity Association (Spain), Trabzon Kadın Hakları Komisyonu (Türkiye), We As One (Latvia), Asociația DIVIT (Romania), and Kisebbségi Egyenlőség Mozgalma Egyesülete (Hungary). The project aims to promote cultural diversity in the workplace, strengthen intercultural communication, and encourage young people to build more inclusive and cooperative working environments.

The second day focused on developing participants' communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills through practical learning activities. During the "Scenario at Work" workshop, participants took part in role-playing exercises based on real workplace situations, including job interviews, teamwork challenges, and professional communication. By experiencing these scenarios from different cultural perspectives, they learned how to overcome misunderstandings and work more effectively in multicultural environments.

The learning process continued with the "Intercultural Communication and Empathy Workshop," where participants explored different communication styles, cultural values, and empathy techniques. Through interactive exercises and discussions, they gained a deeper understanding of how cultural awareness can improve collaboration and reduce prejudice in professional settings.

In the "Cultural Codes in Business" activity, participants examined how business etiquette, management approaches, and communication practices vary across cultures. By comparing workplace traditions from the participating countries, they discovered that diversity can become a valuable resource for innovation, productivity, and stronger teamwork.

The day concluded with reflection sessions that encouraged participants to evaluate what they had learned and discuss how these new perspectives could contribute to their future careers. Through dialogue and shared experiences, the second day reinforced one of the project's main messages: successful teamwork begins with mutual understanding, respect, and effective intercultural communication.
